Miss Jessie is the owner and principal of the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School. She is a fully qualified member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing to an Associate level and is also trained is Acrotrix to a level 2.
Miss Amy is our amazing vice principal. She is a fully qualified teacher in modern and tap to a BATD Associate level. She is currently training at ADDICT Dance Academy however she still teaches via zoom and is in the studio when she is back home, as well as doing lots behind the scenes.
Miss Lisa has worked at the school for over 40 years and is a member of the British Association of Teacher of Dancing at a Membership level. She has toured all over the world performing in many different countries and is the previous owner of the school before stepping back and letting her daughter, Jessie, take over.
Miss Ellie is one of our fantastic teachers who works with all ages at the school. She is fully qualified teacher in modern, tap and ballet to a BATD Associate level She has been a part of the school since the age of 3 and has always loved teaching and choreographing. .
Miss Nikki is one of our brilliant teachers. She teaches singing and drama alongside Miss Caroline. Miss Nikki is a fully qualified teacher in BATD Tap, Modern, Ballet and Dance Drama so also covers other classes as and when needed.
Miss Caroline is one of our fabulous and craziest teachers who works with all ages at the school. She teaches drama and singing alongside Miss Nikki. She has Qualified Teacher Status Specialising in Drama Education.
Ash is a freelance teacher who teaches for us and numerous other schools in the area. He has been involved in street dance for 25 years and teaching street dance for 18 years. He has been taught all the Main Street dance styles but my specialised styles are Hip hop and locking. He has performed at Wembley Arena in front of 10,000 people

Ellen has been involved in our school since a young age. She trained with us and got her BATD associate in Stage and Ballet before going to study further at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Ellen has taught for the school on and off since January 2021 and continues to teach workshops and cover classes as and when needed.
Ciara has been a part of our school since she was a child and when qualified, became one of our teachers in the school during her gap year. Ciara has now left for university however still covers classes when she is back home.
Michele trained at Gladwins from a young age alongside Miss Lisa. Since then, Michele went on to own her own school in Morpeth. She has always been a huge supporter of our school and in passing years has brought her daughter and also now her granddaughter, to train with us. Michele no longer has her own studio, but still loves teaching and all things dance.
Catherine trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, where she developed her skills in dance and acrobatics. Catherine trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, where she developed her skills in dance and acrobatics. As a circus performer specialising in acrobatics and physical theatre, Catherine has toured and performed with various dance and theatre companies both nationally and internationally as a freelance artist, choreographer, and teacher in countries such as Ireland and Spain. With over 12 years of experience in teaching dance and fitness, she began honing her acrobatics and aerial skills in 2017. Now a fully qualified teacher of performing arts, Catherine is the driving force behind Control & Move Fitness CIC, where she empowers others through movement and creativity
Mrs Gladwin was the founder of the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School. She started the school at the scouts hut in Guidepost over 50 years ago. She became a life time member of the BATD and created the legacy that we carry on in her name to date. She taught hundreds of pupils throughout her life before sadly passing away in 2014.
Mr Laing met Mrs Gladwin in Blyth where he was the director of a show, and she was the choreographer. From there, Mr Laing joined the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School and introduced Dance Drama and European National to the timetable. Mr Laing was the director if the school for over 40 years until retiring in 2020. He sadly passed away in February 2024.
