Miss Jessie is the owner and principal of the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School. She is a fully qualified member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing to an Associate level and is also trained is Acrotrix to a level 2. She has been a part of the school since the day she was born as her nanna, grandad and mother are all the previous owners of the school. Miss Jessie took over the school in 2020 and has continued to teach with their morals and methods.

Miss Amy has been a part of the school since the age of 3 and is very passionate about passing on her experiences of working with industry professionals to our pupils to further their training.

Miss Ellen has been a part of our school since a young age. She qualified in BATD associate Tap, Modern and Ballet with us before going to study further at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). She has worked in numerous shows and events up and down the country and loves passing on the knowledge gained from these experience

She has worked in numerous shows and events up and down the country and loves passing on the knowledge gained from these experiences to our pupils. Miss Ellen has taught for the school on and off since 2021 and has recently taken a more permanent role in the school working with our private lesson pupils..

Miss Lisa has worked at the school for over 40 years and is a member of the British Association of Teacher of Dancing at a Membership level. She has toured all over the world performing in many different countries and is the previous owner of the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School before stepping back and letting her daughter, Jessie, take
Miss Lisa has worked at the school for over 40 years and is a member of the British Association of Teacher of Dancing at a Membership level. She has toured all over the world performing in many different countries and is the previous owner of the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School before stepping back and letting her daughter, Jessie, take over. Miss Lisa has years of experience in teaching and performing and although she has took a step back from the school, she plays a big part in the running of the school and events.

Miss Ellie is one of our fantastic teachers who works with all ages at the school. She is fully qualified teacher in modern, tap and ballet to a BATD Associate level. She has been a part of the school since the age of 3 and earned her place in many BATD scholarships as well as travelling up and down the country performing with Gladwins.

Miss Nikki is one of our brilliant teachers who has been a part of the school since a young age. She is a qualified in BATD dance drama, ballet, tap and modern to an associate level and has been a teacher on and off for numerous years. On a weekly basis, Miss Nikki teaches Musical Theatre alongside Miss Caroline however she also covers other classes if/when needed. Miss Nikki also plays a big role when we attend events up and down the country by chaperoning backstage and helping with the running of competitions etc. sses as and when needed.

Miss Caroline has experience directing musicals and stage shows as well as experience performing on a regular basis with her husband and children in their band “B.O.C.K.S Set”.

Ash is a freelance teacher who teaches for us and numerous other schools in the area. He has been involved in street dance for 25 years and teaching street dance for 18 years. He has been taught all the Main Street dance styles but my specialised styles are Hip hop and locking. He has performed at Wembley Arena in front of 10,000 people

In addition to performing, he shares his expertise by teaching handbalance and acrobatics both locally and internationally, inspiring the next generation of circus artists with his passion and skill. Ross has taught circus and acrobatics for over 10 years in the North East and was lead mentor and head acrobatics coach on the only BTEC in circus in the north east

Ciara is now at for university however still covers classes when she is back home.

Since then, Michele went on to own her own school in Morpeth for numerous years, where she inspired many children through her love and passion for dance. She has always been a huge supporter of our school and in passing years has brought her daughter and now her granddaughter, to train with us. Michele no longer has her own studio but still loves teaching and all things dance.

As a circus performer specialising in acrobatics and physical theatre, Catherine has toured and performed with various dance and theatre companies both nationally and internationally as a freelance artist, choreographer, and teacher in countries such as Ireland and Spain. With over 12 years of experience in teaching dance and fitness, she began honing her acrobatics and aerial skills in 2017. Now a fully qualified teacher of performing arts, Catherine is the driving force behind Control & Move Fitness CIC, where she empowers others through movement and creativity

TJ joined the school as Miss Jessie’s maternity cover in stretch and acro on a Monday. He is qualified in Dance Cirque and Little Monkeys programs as well as cheer. TJ works alongside Catherine and Ross at Control Move and Fitness in Cramlington and has attended our school for circus and aerial workshops numerous times. TJ has always had

Mrs Gladwin was the founder of the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School. She started the school at the scouts hut in Guidepost over 50 years ago. She became a life time member of the BATD and created the legacy that we carry on in her name to date. She taught hundreds of pupils throughout her life before sadly passing away in 2014.

Mr Laing met Mrs Gladwin in Blyth where he was the director of a show, and she was the choreographer. From there, Mr Laing joined the Gladwin Ballet and Stage School and introduced Dance Drama and European National to the timetable. Mr Laing was the director if the school for over 40 years until retiring in 2020. He sadly passed away in February 2024.
